Botox, Hair Color, Make-up…
I was surrounded by it all the time. As a 13 year Account Executive for Aveda, I watched beauty emerge everyday. I had at my finger tips the latest products and techniques to help me look my best. I loved fashion and beauty. In fact, each year, I would try to convince my boss to send me to fashion week in New York. I even offered to hold the make-up brushes for the stylists back stage. No such luck!

Frazzled…
Working a busy schedule, with the youngest of my 3 kids not sleeping through the night, almost destroyed me. I was a wreck. One day, on the way to an appointment near the St. Paul Cathedral, I decided to duck in for some Divine Intervention. All the tricks and parenting advice had failed.

Time for a change…
While kneeling alone in this great structure, I prayed frantically for a new direction. I enjoyed the beauty industry, but deep down knew I had outgrown my job. Being away from the kids so much was causing stress at home too. As I was walking out of the Cathedral, the only sound in the air was the echo of my Burberry boots clacking against the marble floor. At that moment it struck me that we define beauty much too superficially. Looking up seeing the beauty of the Cathedral and feeling the true presence of God, I said to myself, we all need to start pampering our souls more then our bodies.

Enlightenment…..
As I walked outside I suddenly felt like I had been sprinkled with holy water which tingled throughout my body. I had an idea! It was simple- I needed to combine fashion with faith. After doing plenty of research, I found nothing on the market that was cute and fashionable that also carried a fun, light-hearted, spiritual message. Everything available looked pretty plain and the messages were overused and predictable.

Birth…
In April 2006, Halowear TM was created. Halowear offers a complete line of adult, child, and doggy apparel that is both fashionable and very high quality. The series of fun, thought-provoking spiritual messages are guaranteed to bring smiles, inspiration, and friendly exchanges.

Halowear has been a true calling. In February 2007, I quit my corporate job to devote my full attention to developing and growing this small brand. It certainly wasn’t what I expected but, who knows, maybe I’ll make it to fashion week after all. I won’t be selling Versace or Calvin Klein, I’ll be partnering with GOD!

P.S. My son is now sleeping peacefully through the night!
